Mucuna Pluriens is a leguminous plant called hasshoumame in Japan, one of the common medicinal plants in Ayurveda. L-DOPA, the active ingredient, is a derivative of tyrosine, a type of amino acid, which is converted to dopamine in the body. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter necessary for the brain to function normally, muscle tension and stiffness occurs without this. In a study conducted in India, the results show that mucuna has improved semen concentration and sperm motility in all infertile subjects.
